Savoy Hotel Wedding- Natalie and Nick
The Savoy Hotel Wedding of Natalie and Nick as photographed by David Pullum voted one of the best wedding photographers in the UK 2020
I loved working with Natalie and Nick, from the very first communication that we had I knew I wanted to photograph their wedding.
Natalie was so enthusiastic about my photography and of course her wedding which used aspects of her religion ( Jewish ) and Nick's.
I first met them both at their house in Essex. nick is the head groundsman at Tottenham Football Club and looks after the training facilities. As an avid Arsenal fan we talked a lot about his job, and I was amazed at some of the stories that he had to tell.
The ceremony and wedding reception both took place at The Savoy. The Savoy Hotel is one of my favourite venues to photograph at. Ive been lucky enough to photograph there on quite a few occasions. I love the ballroom, so elegant, and full of history.
The hotel staff are always a pleasure to work with, always friendly and helpful. The ballroom is a blank canvas for weddings, and I'm always amazed at what production companies can do the change the appearance of it.
Bridal prep was like Piccadilly Circus, people coming and going all the time, and also my favourite part of the day. Sometimes the more the merrier, it certainly makes for some interesting images. The candlelit ceremony was challenging from a photographic point of view, but that's also the challenge that I love to take on. You only get one chance at photographing a wedding, you either nail it or you fail.
The photographer has to do justice to the atmosphere that the couple have created. Unfortunately I see too many images these days where the atmosphere is totally lost due to excessive use of flash that completely obliterates the ambience.
Great speeches and dancing followed and guests partied into the night. Thank you to Natalie and Nick for making me feel so welcome and to all the families and friends for allowing me to get close and take my images.
