Coworth Park Wedding | Luci + Ian
Coworth Park wedding as photographed by David Pullum.
Coworth Park is one of my favourite wedding venues in London. Small enough for intimate weddings of just 10 people, larger weddings of up to 120 and large weddings when using the marquee.
I first photographed a wedding at Coworth Park way back in 2012 when it first opened. Since then I have been lucky enough to have been one of their preferred suppliers and photographed many weddings there.
Luci and Ian are lawyers and bankers, respectively, with busy lives. Unfortunately this meant I did not have the pleasure in meeting them before their wedding day. With this couple though that did not prove to be a problem at all.
My style of images is very personal. I dont stand in the corner, hide and sneak about. I love to show the personalities of my couples and this means getting to know them either before the day or very quickly on it. Getting couples to feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera is in itself an art form and something I have worked on over the last 15 years. For me its really crucial that the couple are themselves and don't feel and look uncomfortable.
Luci and Ian were married at St Michaels and All Angels church in Ascot. A beautiful church just down the road from Coworth Park. Luci's parents live within walking distance of the church and so Luci had all her bridal preparations at their house.
I photograph less and less church ceremonies these days with a lot of couples having a civil ceremony instead, so it was really nice to photograph their ceremony in this historic place of worship. Churches can be difficult to photograph in. Sometimes the vicar will not want the photographer, or videographer to be either in eyeshot or earshot. This particular vicar was really nice and allowed me more access than I usually would have, which in turn meant that I could getter better images.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at Coworth Park. As always, Georgina, the event co-ordinator had done a superb job and the venue looked incredible.
